The story behind
This is my go-to whenever I need a quick fix that doesn't taste 'fast.' It takes me back to those busy nights when the fridge looked empty, but these few ingredients turned into magic. Watching the egg ribbons dance with the red tomatoes is just hypnotic. It’s simple, honest food that never fails to make me smile after a long day.
Instructions
-
1Sauté the tomatoes in a pot with a bit of oil until they soften and release their juices.
-
2Pour in the broth and add the star anise. Let it simmer for a few minutes to build that flavor base.
-
3Lower the heat. Slowly pour in the beaten eggs in a thin stream while gently swirling the broth to create silky ribbons.
-
4Turn off the heat, stir in the sesame oil, and top with plenty of fresh cilantro.
-
5Serve it up immediately. It’s basically a hug in a bowl.
